What this office does
A Special Civil Part court officer is appointed by the Superior Court of New Jersey to carry out the court’s orders after a case has been decided. The work starts when a judgment creditor, or their attorney, has the court issue a writ or a warrant.
Most of it is wage executions served on employers, bank levies, levies on personal property, and warrants of removal in landlord-tenant cases. Money collected on a judgment is paid over to the creditor or the creditor’s attorney, less the officer’s fee, which is set by law.
If you have paperwork from this office, please have the docket number in front of you when you call.
